Recent Radio
Review:
- I host a local radio show that features interviews with area
winemakers and chefs-www.grapevineradio.net
and here's my favorites:
Jack Creek Cellars for a couple of stunning Pinot Noirs
Malloy-O'Neill for some huge reds
Alapay Cellars in Avila Beach a whole line of nice wines and great
tasting room at the beach
Kynsi in the Edna Valley - San Luis Obispo
Taste - downtown San Luis Obipso, you can sample most of the wines of
the SLO Valley
Stacked Stone - Paso - you asked for a BIG fruit forward Syrah?. Hang on
to your tongue!
Vista Del Rey - Paso -food friendly Zin? Unique among Zins.
Peachy Canyon - Paso - Doug Beckett is a Paso wine pioneer and legendary
monster Zin-o-phile
Thunderbolt Junction - Paso- formerly HMR, the first premium
winery in the County. Several good wines, but for big Zinners worth the
trip for the 1999 Dusi Zin alone. Hurry before it's all gone.
Midnight Cellars - Paso - many good wines and a great Syrah/Zin blend.
Au Bon Clemant - Santa Maria Valley (Sideways Country) terrific wines,
Jim Clendenon just named to James Beard Foundation's "Who's Who in Wine
& Food"
Costa de Oro - Santa Maria Valley - more than one oenophile has
proclaimed "favorite Pinot" here.
